There's a saying....
"You cannot teach someone who's drowning on how to swim"
When a person is overwhelmed by their own struggles, they cannot absorb guidance, no matter how much potential we see in them or how deeply we want them to grow.
It’s natural to want others to shine, especially when we see qualities in them that they cannot yet see in themselves.
But before we invest our time and energy, we need to ask the most important question: "Do they truly want to change?"
Even if they say, “Yes, help me become the best version of myself".
Words alone are not enough.
Growth requires willingness, effort, and responsibility from both sides. As my clinical psychologist once said, it takes two to tango.
We cannot change people directly. What we can do is offer tools, guidance, and support. Their response to that help does not define our worth or our effort.
Because the truth is:
"You cannot save someone who continues to pull themselves under."
You can offer a lifeline, but you cannot swim for them. So give them a gentle nudge, then step back. Let them do the work.
If they choose not to change, then it’s okay to walk away. You have already given what you can. Their refusal to grow is not a reflection of your effort, your kindness, or your intentions.
We do our part. We give our best.
What they choose to do with that support—to rise or to waste it—is ultimately their responsibility, not ours.

Of you: Live what you love, and love what you live

You see...
A lot of the time, it’s really hard for us to judge a situation.
Because the people around us—the ones giving us advice—always tell us to keep holding on to that person. Saying that if we both keep trying and working on things together, it’ll eventually be worth it.
But the problem is, they overlook the most important thing: maturity.
Maturity isn’t about being strong, being smart, or being independent to a certain degree. Maturity is about whether a person has the ability to change, and whether they have the self-awareness to reflect on themselves.
We also have to understand that some people simply won’t listen to what you have to say. Either they’re always too busy to reply to you, or the moment you try to talk, they immediately become defensive.
That’s why the art of letting go and stepping back is so important.
For people like us, who have big hearts and love deeply, we need to be even more careful about distinguishing between who is truly worth our effort and who is simply wasting our time.
Seeing through someone’s mask takes a lot of experience. And love is such a stubborn and sometimes foolish thing.
You might fall for someone and think, “Okay, this is someone worth giving my all to.”
But in reality, they may not be worth it.
Then you start asking yourself, “Why did I let her hurt me?”
But the truth is, we also need to be more careful about who we give our hearts to.
That’s where maturity comes in; being able to see whether this person can communicate, whether they can reflect on themselves, whether they’re capable of changing, and whether they’re willing to work through problems together with you.
You can’t blame yourself, because you already tried your best. It’s just that the outcome wasn’t what you hoped it would be.
It’s like a seed. If it was already rotten from the beginning, no matter how much you take care of it, it will never grow into a healthy tree.
That is maturity. And that is the art of letting go.
Knowing who this person really is, and whether she has the sense of responsibility and willingness to truly love you.
That’s all.

an: This resonates..
Whispers of beauty..
A shadow crosses the sun,
Soft as the silence inside me.
Light dims, but never disappears.
In the hush, I find my voice—
A quiet flame learning to rise.
Even eclipsed, I am becoming:
Soft,
Brave,
Whole.
Darkness only teaches me,
How fiercely my light
Was meant to return.

Please remember....
Life can be tough sometimes and you don't have to force yourself to become a perfectly responsible adult. You don't have to carry the weight of the world on your shoulder alone.
Just be a carefree kid.
Share your joy with me when you're happy or when you feel alone, down or overwhelmed with life. Share everything that you want to share with me regardless of time and place.
Just vent to me.
You’re safe talking to me. This space is for you to be yourself, whenever you want, however you want. I’ll help keep this space safe for you.
So, let me know the real you.
Don't keep it all hidden inside because I'm not here to love only the perfect version of you, but everything about you. We will share highs and shoulder the lows together.
And I'm gonna be by your side, always...

"Am I difficult?"
I often catch myself asking that question. Not after every disagreement, but after I've apologized for needing reassurance.
After I explained myself in three different ways, I still felt misunderstood. After I'd left a conversation wondering if I should have asked for less, said less, felt less.
It's strange how quickly we turn ourselves into the problem. How easily can we start editing our personalities instead of asking whether we are simply in the wrong room.
I've put so much work into making myself clear to others that I kinda forgot to think about whether anyone was really trying to understand me.
Maybe I am difficult for some people.
Just like how some people are difficult for me. But I don't think that's a failure. I think that's what happens when two people speak different emotional languages.
These days, I don't ask myself, "Am I too much?" as often.
I ask, "Do I feel safe enough to be myself here?" The answer to that question has told me far more than the first one ever did.

A time for myself...
I need isolation sometimes.
Not to escape people but to come back to myself. I don't realize how much of the day I've spent adjusting until I'm finally alone.
Replying.
Listening.
Being available.
Being patient.
Being the version of me that everyone else knows.
And somewhere in all of that, I get quieter on the inside. That's when I know I need to disappear for a while.
No conversations to keep alive.
No one needs anything from me.
No pressure to be funny, present, productive, or okay.
Just enough silence to hear my own thoughts again. I used to feel guilty about it. Like needing space meant I loved people less.
Now I think it's the opposite.
I disappear so I don't lose myself trying to be everything for everyone else. Because the hardest thing about constantly being there for other people... is how easy it becomes to forget what you sound like.
And every now and then, I need the world to go quiet... just long enough to hear myself again. #beyourself# # #
